Semester Reflection
This semester in ENGL 1120, I picked up many nuances in the world of rhetoric. The lesson on how to avoid writing in a passive voice was the most valuable to me, and I will be sure to carry these tips forward in all of my future compositions. The background music during work time made a huge difference in setting a calming tone in the room. In fact, I now play similar tunes in my home office 24 hours per day, especially during study time.
Engaging with others in the room regularly brought flavor to the class. Our group discussions gave me a broader outlook on the topics at hand. It is valuable to hear what others have to say, since their views are slightly different than mine, which can cause me to reevaluate certain aspects of my own beliefs.
In summary, this class was extremely enjoyable and surprising at times. Having a variety of topics kept me from zoning out and genuinely piqued my curiosity. May you have a successful career as a professor! Your students are blessed to have someone as caring as you are. Thank you.
